Project 2: Word World

A

A is for Assistance

This walker is a way to assist anyone who is struggling with walking on their own. Although a cane would be a helpful tool to move a person from one place to another, someone is able to rely a little bit more on this type of assistance to move from one place to another. The compactability of the walker creates this A-shaped along with the cord completing the letter.

B

B is for bright lights

This truck features not only one rear light on the right side but two! The two rear lights are stacked up on top of one another creating a B shape. Observing this while driving helped me notice the bright colors of the rear lights and how they created this shape.

C

C is for coat hook

Although I listed this object to be a coat hook, it is actually a hook for any products. With two available hooks, one can put their keys, their purse, or just about anything else needed to be hung. The curve creates a C shape being the perfect way to place any items needed to be hung. Additionally, the curve in the C shape brings not only one but two available spots to put items on, the top and the bottom.

D

D is for drink

Although a mug can be found with or without a handle, a handle is what creates the best way to hold and enjoy a beverage. The handle is shaped to create a D shape that not only is great for carrying the item from one place to another, but also to not burn your hand in the process (if consuming a hot beverage). Additionally, the D-shaped handle makes it easier to hold a beverage inside of the mug, to not spill all over the place.

E

E is for exciting sensory

The three tubs of sensory sand form three lines. These three lines then form a capital E shape. With the three tubs stacked up on top of one another, one can see the variety of colors available to play with. Also, the lids on top of the tubs of playful sand create the lines in an E and do not allow for mixing of the sands.

F

F is for furniture

The shelves not only include a place on top to put items, but also individual shelves to put even more items of your choice. With a great space in between each shelf, there is separation between each level. This created the capital F shape.

G

G is for gate

The capital G curved shape of the gate brings a fancy vibe to it. Not only does the curve create this G shape but also elevates the architecture. Although there is not a functional purpose to the G-shaped piece, it adds a layer of appearance and appeal to the gate.

H

H is for happy lines

The lines on this basket add a layer of uniqueness to it. A plain basket without pattern and texture may not draw one’s attention, but this texture really grabs someone’s attention. The lines form an H-shape to give the appearance of a woven basket.

I

I is for ice cold water

Although the water in that bottle may have been emptied out already, the purpose for this bottle is to drink water out of it. The contrast in color between the clear body and the blue cap, creates the capital I shape.

J

J is for justified

The curve of the architecture creates a J shape. Although the other curves create beautiful accents to the architecture, I wanted to highlight the capital J I was able to notice. The curve at the bottom along with the straight line connecting to it, create a J shape.

K

K is for knowing and seeing

The stained glass window at my local parish creates an image. Within that image is the letter K. The cross being held by the person in the image, is leaning on its side. With the cross leaning towards a certain direction, the two diagonal lines form a K while the frame represents the straight line to complete the K.

L

L is for liquor

The boot was angled towards me in a way that made an L shape. The pointy boot is used as a liquor bottle. Although one may want to consume what is inside of the bottle, others may view it as a fun piece of decor. This piece of decor forms the L shape.

M

M is for moving around

The back of this car I saw while walking around my neighborhood features something I can assume is for transporting items. The curves form an M shape. This M shape provides a secure place to store items to then move around with the vehicle.

N

N is for nooks

The boxes of snacks are featured within my pantry. The tilt of one box on the rest form the capital N. The outside boxes act as a stable post for the resting box to lay on to then illicit this N shape.

O

O is for H2O

My dad’s dog bowl is shaped to look like an O. With the dimensions of the bowl showing the inside of it as well as the rim of it, form an O. This O shaped bowl helps my dad’s dog, bon bon, drink out of it without spilling out too much while still holding a great amount of water inside.

P

P is for pink

This pink keurig in my kitchen has a compartment at the top that is used to put the pods in it. The pods contain ground coffee to then be produced into a drink. This represents the circle in the letter P. The line in the letter P is represented by the water compartment. In order to create the drink, a mix of coffee and water needs to be put together in the Keurig. These two compartments create a capital P shape.

Q

Q is for quiet night

On one quiet night walk around the neighborhood, I found a variety of leaves that had fallen from the trees. One leaf stood out to me because of the stem. The leaf formed an O shape but the stem attached to it added the little extra line to create the letter Q.

R

R is for red light

Although the light post featured is not a red light, I did take the image while waiting for a red light. The straight pole created the base for the r shape. The curve of the light post created the top part of the lowercase r.

S

S is for sit

The bench featured at my local parish is a place for people to sit. They can sit here either during Mass or really at any time of the day when the gates are open. The beautiful and unique shape on the base of the bench creates a curve forming the letter S.

T

T is for table

I was visiting a local coffee shop when after ordering my coffee I sat down to wait for my coffee to be ready. I look to my right to see a small table with the shape of a T. The top line of the T was formed from the display of the table and the support/foundation of the table forms the drop line for the rest of the T shape.

U

U is for using a bag

The bag’s handle is curved creating a U shape. The U-shaped handle creates a great way to hold a bag and be able to maintain what is in it. Without this u-shaped handle, the bag would be more difficult to hold.

V

V is for visiting

The two trees in my neighborhood are moving outwards. With the tilt of the bases of the tree, a V shape is formed.

W

W is for woman

The lady of Guadalupe is a very notable saint amongst Mexican Catholics. The light beaming around her is represented through lines. The lines at the top formed a W-shape.

X

X is for criss cross applesauce

The back of the chair in my kitchen casted a shadow to the wall. Since the back of the chair is X shaped, the shadow also features an X shape.

Y

Y is for young adult literature

The bookshelf in my living room has a unique shape. Instead of standard shelves that will lay books side by side, this unique shaped shelf holds books on top of one another. The way the lines cross and connect form a Y shape.

Z

Z is for zig zags

I find it clever that zig zags start with the letter Z and form the letter Z. While I was walking in my neighborhood, I saw a zig zag like path. I found this to represent the letter Z perfectly.
